  • W-welcome! Make yourself at... h-home.
  • Thank you! Let's start with our practice now. We got this!
  • B-broca's area has an important r-role in turning y-your... ideas and thoughts i-into actual spoken w-words.
  • The c-cerebrum is the part of the brain that is d-divided into... into four l-lobes, namely: frontal, parietal, temporal, and o-occipital lobes.
  • Aside from coordinating voluntary muscle movements and maintaining balance, the cerebellum also controls language processing.
  • You're doing great, Mallory! Keep it up.
  • Wernicke's area is mainly involved in the understanding and processing of speech and written language.
  • The Arcuate Fasciculus is a band of nerves that helps you form words, speak clearly, and understand concepts in language form.
  • To speak clearly, the motor cortex takes information from Broca's area and tells different muscles how to move to form speech.
  • After school ended, Elle and I decided to practice for our Neuroanatomy report at my house. I was a bit nervous, but I tried to hide it from Elle.
  • I'm just a bit worried. What if nobody wants to listen to me?
  • Even my own parents weren't interested with what I had to say before. They would always ignore me and ask me to be quiet. Will our classmates be any different?
  • Hey, what's wrong?
  • Elle and I started practicing each of our own parts. Even though I was stuttering with my lines, she still gave me words of encouragement; which motivated me to do better.
  • It's okay. Thank you for listening though. I appreciate it a lot.
  • You're welcome! You're my friend after all. I care about what you have to say. And I'm pretty sure our classmates would be more than willing to listen to you too.
  • I'm sorry you had to go through that. Everyone deserves to be heard.
  • After a while, I started delivering my lines better. Thanks to Elle's help, I wasn't stuttering anymore. Now that I'm speaking clearly, I feel more confident for our presentation.
  • I'm always here for you too if you need someone to listen, okay? Thank you again.
  • I know. You'll be the first person I'll share my thoughts with. If you're feeling better, let's continue our practice?
  • I didn't realize that my mood drop became obvious to Elle. She asked me what was wrong, so I told her about what I had experienced before.
  • After that, she told me words of encouragement. She also offered to help me overcome my fear.
  • Surprisingly, her words helped. We then carried on with our practice. And this time, I feel more confident with my words. With that, the rest of our practice went by smoothly.
  • Yeah, sure! I'm feeling more excited now!
