- A group of angry colonists disguised as Native Americans dumped 342 chests of tea into the water

- The british taxed all the sugar and molasses from the west indies to protect british producers. This angered the colonists so they started to smuggle sugar and molasses.
- Proclamation act
- Colonists were forced to buy only British goods. British officials could seize cargoes.Foreign refined sugar and certain other imports taxed to raise funds for Britain and to end smuggling
- Townshend Act

- Colonists had to buy and place tax stamps on certain documents.
- Colonists were not allowed to settle on Native American lands.
