Storyboard Text

  • After creating the land and waters, God brought forth creatures and life into the waters on the fifth day of creation, : “Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky"(Genesis 1:20). When humankind was created, God gave us control over these creatures, lands, and waters.: “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth,[d] and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth” (Genesis 1:26).
  • Stewardship of Creation is one of the CST's meaning that the Earth is sacred, and we have the responsibility to protect and to cherish the Earth’s ecological diversity, beauty and life-sustaining properties. As humanity, it is our job to make sure we are holding it in trust for future generations, by being aware of our actions to the environment, and taking responsibility of God's planet.
  • We must care for the waters and make sure these animals are safe!
  • Yes!
  • Water pollution by Industrial Waste: Wastewater from manufacturing or chemical processes in industries contributes to water pollution. More seriously, contaminated water destroys aquatic life and reduces its reproductive ability. Eventually, it is a hazard to human health. Over 1 million marine animals (including mammals, fish, sharks, turtles, and birds) are killed each year due to chemicals in the ocean.
  • Water Pollution is an example of de-creation because we are destroying the water, and the creatures inside. This form of de-creation is called “Person vs. Nature” since we are harming nature on our Earth. This issue is also threatening Stewardship of Creation, as it shows disregard to the blessings God has given us, such as clean drinking water. By using industries and agriculture for our own good without taking the biodiversity being affected into consideration, we are proving to be selfish human beings.
  • To eradicate water pollution we can use less plastic, since much of the plastic we consume ends up in the world’s water supply, where it is even harder to fish out and safely throw away. We must also reuse items: If there are two options for a particular item, try to pick the one that is easily recyclable. Thirdly, do not litter. If visiting an area where there is a nearby lake, river, or ocean, do not throw any type of litter or trash into or near the water. And finally, be cautious while cleaning chemicals since they are hazardous when they enter the water supply.
  • We need to pick up all this garbage so this place is pollution-free!
  • Yea! Now all the fishes in the sea will be in clean and safe water.
  • The moral: God has blessed the Earth with such beautiful oceans, waters, and creatures, while giving us the responsibility to take care of these blessings. Pollution deriving from industries, or even our own wrongdoings threaten the life of these innocent animals, as well as ours. By changing little things in our daily life habits, we have the opportunity to save our water from being contaminated, benefiting all breathing organisms on Earth.
