Hey class, today we have a special visitor. Her name is Janet Iwasa and she will be teaching you about her studies as a cell biologist. Let's go to the lab and meet her!
Hello guys. My name is Janet Iwasa and I study cells as well as the molecules within them. Molecules are very tiny particles that cannot always been seen with a microscope. So, with the help of other biologists, I had a vision! Let's go on a field trip!
I love to explore the outdoors and the natural world. But being a cell biologist leads me to be more interested about the natural world on a much smaller and molecular level.
THIS IS SO COOL!!! I can't wait to learn more.
So, myself along with a couple of other researchers began to animate and create 3-D models of molecules in order to analyze and learn about the structure of cells, organisms, and more. These animations are also very useful for researchers because they help to prove how these molecules work.
Even though these molecular animations can help reveal how molecules work, they are not definite. They are based on hypotheses and are one of my biggest challenges when completing my work. Lastly, these molecular worlds are far from being fully educated about by anyone, but when they are developed over time, it can be one of the most useful tools for science ever.
Thank you!!!
Well, that's all the time that Ms. Iwasa has and the bell is going to ring school. Let's say thank you and goodbye to her and when your ready you can pack up.
