The British tried to surprise the french at Fort Duquense. But the British failed, the french killed most of the soldiers. Their were only 500 soldiers out of 1500 soldiers that survived.
William Pitt took over the war in 1758. He believed that North America was crucial for England's domination. He found new commanders James Wolfe and Jeffery Amherst, and that is the time when the war turned around. Even though General Wolfe wins the battle of Quebec and defeated the French he died through the process.
Since the French was no match for the British, the Treaty Of Paris signed and declared England's victory. The French had to give up all of the North American land they owned except for a few Caribbean Islands. Then the English now owned all of Canada, Florida, America East of the Mississippi valley, and a majority of Caribbean Islands.
