- pretty much while William was sailing. His boat got caught in a storm where he arrived in Japan and the Japanese Shogan questioned him and he did so well the Shogan made him his confidant and William Adams officially was the first Northern European person to reach Japan.

- William tried to request to go back to London to visit his family but the Shogan declined so he had to make a new family where he married a Japanese woman and had two kids
