The enzymes active site then becomes disfigured and it may not be able to do its function with the substrate.
If the enzyme lactase does not have its optimal ph it becomes denatured.
These substrates have entered the stomach and need to be bonded to an enzyme to be broken down and digested.
Active site
Our enzyme- Lactase needs to bind to the substrate that is a perfect fit to be able to function and break down the substrate.
Note: People who are lactose intolerant get sick from dairy products because they lack the Lactase enzyme created by the small intestine this then causes there to be no way to break down the lactose to then be digested. This in turn causes the consumer to get sick.
The enzyme Lactase has now bonded with the substrate lactose now it will begin to be broken down into glucose and galactose to be digested.
The enzyme has successfully broken down the lactose from dairy into glucose and galactose to then be digested.
