- Maddy and Ollie arrive in Hawaii. They start to do incredible things that will create life long memories. The first thing they do is surf. Maddy and Ollie are having the time of their lives, forgetting about all real life, living their vacation as if it were real.
- Ollie and Maddy are sitting at a sunset dinner when Maddy starts to feel a terrible headache. She brushes it off, assuring Ollie that it was just a hunger headache and had nothing to do with her having SCID. The two finish their dinners. Then they head to their hotel for some much needed rest before their next full day of adventure.
- Dear Maddy, we regret to inform you that you do not have SCID disease. Your mother has been lying. -Doctors in Hawaii
- Maddy wakes up in the middle of the night feeling immense pain. She cant breath, her head is pounding, and she is near death. Ollie wakes up and takes her to the hospital. Maddy almost dies multiple times, but the doctors at the hospital are able to revive her. Ollie and the hospital make the concious decision to call Maddys mom.
- At the hospital, maddys mom arrives and blames Ollie for what has happened to Maddy. The doctors try to diagnose Maddy, but Maddys mom solves the problem for them. She informs the doctors that Maddy has SCID, bubble disease, which explains why she is sick. The doctors agree and move on with Maddys treatment.
- Maddy heals in Hawaii and returns home to LA where she lives with her mother. Once she settles in, she receives an email from her doctors in Hawaii. The email says that they had run many tests and they had proved that she does not have SCID disease. Maddy confronts her mom and her mom refuses to believe the truth. This is when Maddy realizes that her mom has been lying to her for her entire life.
- Once Maddy find out shes not actually sick, her life truly begins. She tries things for the first time and she makes friends. She gets to experience everything her mom was keeping her from. After a few months, she realizes that after Hawaii, she never saw Ollie again. She tracked down the love of her life, and when they met in a bookstore, he was absolutely shocked to see Maddy out of her house. She explained the situation and the lies to him. He embraced her tightly and they lived happily ever after.
