Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • In the beginning, we are given three guards Horatio, Bernardo, and Marcellus. They tell Horatio of a ghost they have been seeing on watch and try to make him stay but he's skeptical. The ghost then appears and they believe it to possibly be the dead king.
  • Climax
  • The conflict is an external conflict to do with his mother, Gertrude, and his stepfather, Claudius, insisting in front of the royal court that Hamlet gets over his father's death a week after it happened. Hamlet then lets the reader know that his mourning is deep and truthful whereas his mother's isn't. Hamlet is also troubled with knowing his mother will marry his father's murderer.
  • Falling Action
  • The Rising action is when Hamlet is talking to the ghost and our plot is revealed. He finds out the truth of his father's death and questions whether the ghost is truly his dad or a devil trying to trick him into murder.
  • Denoument
  • The climax is when Hamlet and Horatio swear over the sword to stop the tremors the ghost is creating.
  • Hamlet cements his plan and makes sure his friends are loyal and onboard.
  • We see Hamlet accept his plan even if it is a measure between his Christian Faith and his sense of honor.
