- Matthias Schledian used a compound microscope and looked at plants and realized they all have very similar size, shape, and color.

- Wow I've been looking at these plants all day and all these cells look really similar.

- I've been looking at animals and plants for a while now and I noticed that every single one of them have mulitple cells. Cells must be the building blocks of all living thngs and they also must have their own specific function.
- Theodor Schwann looked at many animals and noticed that every single animal has many different types of cells and he also stated that cells are the building blocks of all living things. He also notice that since animals had so many cells they all must have their own specific function

- Rudolph Virchow was a German scientists and look at all the other scientists work and performed experiments about what he saw. He proved that cells only come from other cells.
