- I cannot write a word yet but at three,I know the letter jlove the way it curves into a hookthat I carefully top with a straight hatthe way my sister has taught me to do. Lovethe sound of the letter and the promise that one day this will be connected to a full name,my ownthat I will be able to writewithout my sisters hand over mine,making it do what I cannot yet do.How amazing these words are that slowly come to me.How wonderfully on and on they go.Will the words end, I askwhenever I remember to.Nope, my sister sys, all of five years old now,and promising me infinity

- I selected this poem because I thought this was important because if this had not happened Jacqueline probably would not have loved writing. The reason I think this is because her love of writing came from her liking the way the letters looked. The reason that I do not think that she would have gotten into writing if her sister had not shown her the beauty of letters. Another reason is because she loved the way the J curves on the page. Jacqueline loves to read so she would want to know how to make all the words that amaze her so much.
