- The Native Americans had to touch the explorers to see if they had real flesh. They had never actually seen anybody with such light skin.
- Columbus had made three voyages for Spain. One in 1493, one in 1498, and the last one being in 1502.
- He first explored the Caribbean islands of Hispaniola, Cuba, and Jamaica.
- He also sailed along the coast of South America an Central America.
- I have found land, and I have claimed it for Spain!
- Although Columbus never did find Asia, he did map many new locations for his country.
