This scene stood out to me because three girls, including Korinna, are witnessing a man being beaten by Gestapo officers. This man was a so called a ¨Jew-lover¨ by ¨Loyal Germans¨. He was most likely a Jew-lover because he associated with Jews. He was violently beaten and taken to a ¨Work Camp¨.
In this scene Korinna, Rita, and a couple of others throw snowballs, that have ice in them, at Jewish children. One of them that was thrown hit one of the little girls in the face and made her bleed. I chose this scene because this is where the reader can tell that Korinna is starting to feel bad for the Jews.
Hans comes to the Rehme´s home and searches for Jews but he doesn find them. He ends up tearing some photos and Herr Rehme tells him to stop. Hans hits Korinnaś dad because he told him to stop. Korinnayells at him until he drop the figure and leaves their home.
