- Grendel stepped in and saw a crowd of young soldiers sleeping next to each other, he then snatched the first Geat he saw and ripped him apart and drank his blood.
- Beowulf's men tried to hack at Grendel's from every side but their points could not hurt him or scratch his skin because he had bewitched all men's weapons and blunted every mortal mans blade, so beowulf killed Grendel with his bare hands.
- Grendel was wounded but he managed to escape to his den "his miserable hole" only to die
- The battle was over and Beowulf hung Grendel's arm, claw, and shoulder on the rafters for proof of victory, and the Danes celebrated beowulf's victory.
- Once he was in the water witches(Grendel's mother)home Beowulf swung his sword at her head but the same thing happened, no blade could slice or cut through his skin. As they wrestled she ripped, clawed, and tore at him
- As Beowulf threw Grendel's mother to the floor, she rose up again and wildly teared at him as she was about to kill him to avenge her only son but Beowulf saw a heavy sword, that was hammered by the giants, as he broke the chain on its hilt he lifted it high and struck her with everything single strength he had left on his body and killed her
