- The Pilgrims were one of the groups escaping religious persecution, they traveled for many weaks on the Mayflower, hoping to reach the New World and start a new life.
- To cease tensions, they signed the Mayflower Compact to pledge loyalty to the King but also abide to the lasws they created.
- Landing in 1620, the pilgrims and strangers had a conflict if they would still follow Britain's rules.
- The Mayflower Compact was the first successful attempt of Democracy. Men met to make sure everything was followed, setting an example for years to come.
