- A long long time ago, before cells existed. The earth was a harsh, barren place with no signs of life present. It was gloomy, dark and depressing.
- The legend tells us that before anything was created, four creatures (small complex structures) must have been formed from inorganic compounds.
- hi, i'm amino acid!
- okay, i'm fatty acid
- i'm simple sugar
- and i'm nitrogenous base
- Contrary to popular belief, the four complex structures did NOT get along well. All they did was argue and complain about each other's presence.
- stop trying to steal simple sugar from me!!
- fatty acid, look at me baby! this isn't you 🥺 stop fighting over me!
- first of all, she's NOT yours and it's not MY fault she enjoys my company more!!
- why are they fighting so loud 😭
- The witch next door heard their incessant argument and decided to put it to an end - if they don't form cells by midnight, she will eliminate them all.
- if you guys can't do this, i'll send my dragon after you
- As the four creatures went on their journey, they encountered a beast who is trying to attack them, little do they know- they have a secret power.
- Each carbon compound was able to fuse together and assemble into polymers (proteins + polysaccharides) in order to defeat the beast.
