Six Thinking Hats

Storyboard Text

  • BLUE HAT
  • It's been a while my dear mentees. Do any of you face problems during online learning?
  • WHITE HAT
  • I also face poor time management since I'm staying at home. And i'm worried about the upcoming exam as I was unable to catch-up with lessons.
  • I was unable to stay focus during online class. I feel stress because of my poor internet connection
  • BLUE HAT
  • Let's solve Adam's problems together. What do all of you think about it. Any opinions?
  • The blue hat thinker is someone who analyzed a situation or a problem. Based on the scene above, the teacher represents best as the blue hat thinker as she tried out to analyze the problem that might occur among the students.
  • RED HAT
  • Oh my. So pity of you! Why don't you just defer this semester and wait until our next physical class?
  • The white hat is all about facts and information. White color stands for neutrality. For example, based on the scene above, Adam is describing about the difficulties that he faced during online learning.
  • BLACK HAT
  • Other than that, since you mentioned about stress just now, too much stress will cause health problems such as anxiety, depression and insomnia.
  • As a blue hat thinker, the teacher ask for opinions and decisions from each of the students on how to work out Adam's problems.
  • YELLOW HAT
  • It's okay Adam, we all can help you to overcome the problems that you encounter. For instance, since you are having an unstable internet connection, you may come to our house since all of us live nearby and we can also share Wi-Fi together during our classes.
  • A red hat thinker is associated with feelings and emotions. Based on the scene above, the student express her emotions and feelings and share the fears, likes and dislikes. Red hat allows people to put forwards feelings without justification and prejudice.
  • I can totally feel you because one of my cousin is also facing the same problems as well. It must be so hard for you isn't it?
  • A black hat thinker is a cautious person that will predict negative outcomes. It keeps someone from doing things that are illegal, immoral, unprofitable and so on. Based on the scene above, the student stated on the consequences if Adam keep on too stress and worried.
  • Besides, constant worrying will only cause you to missed assignment deadlines since you're thinking too much about it while not doing anything.
  • The yellow hat is for optimism. It focuses or looks for a logical, positive view of things and benefits as well. For example, if there is an issue, the yellow hat thinks the best way to approach that problem and the benefit or positive outcome could result from the solution.
  • Regarding poor time management, I believe that you can overcome this by preparing a schedule for effective learning that will help you to perform better in your studies. You can also create a "To-Do" list to stay focused on your work. It will help you to break down the large activities into smaller ones for better learning outcomes.
