- Hi, Ron I think the first thing we better do to plan the homecoming dance is we need to define the goals and objectives for this event. We need to know why we are planning this event in the first place and what the objectives of the event are like increasing revenuesince the last event or receiving 100 preorders for the tickets.
- Hey, Garland! What do you think we should do to plan the dance?
- Next we need to establish an event budget because we need to know how much money we can spend so we don't go over and run out of money for things we need. I know that we need decorations, snacks, and drinks, so we need to make sure we charge enough for tickets.
- Next we need to build our events team because we need an organized team to help prepare and execute the event. We should see who has experience planning a dance so that they know what to do,
- Next we need to pick a venue and a date. It is important to pick a venue and date because it can be hard to get venues for events on certain dates. You also have to make sure it has restrooms over the venue, make sure its in the budget, and has staff. I know that some groups have held dances at local universities. We should see what dates they have available.
- The next thing we need to do is develop event branding. It is important to develop event branding because it helps keep consistency of what the events are about through the logos, theme, colors, event name, ect. Event brands should reflect our organization's brand but also have a brand of its own.
- The next thing we need to do is to plan our program. It is important to plan your program because you need to know if you're gonna have an extra day for sponsors, will there be a guest of honor. The people attending the event will want to know things like if theres going to be anyone famous there. We should see if we can get an influencer to come.
