Hermes, it seems as if I have been quite neglecting towards the human affairs lately. My dear son, go down into the human world and tell me about their current life!
But, Father! I've got work to do-
ZEUS
OLYMPUS
Fine! I'll go and look into the human world!
I know that you are the idle one among the Olympians! Now, go!
Well, Athena already went to Asia, Ares just came back from Africa, Dionysus came from America, so I should look into Europe!
After descending from Olympus...
One day at Olympus, Zeus told his son, Hermes to go into the human world which he have not been looking into quite lately, and report to him on how the humans are currently doing.
Off I go!
Zeus, knowing that Hermes is the idlest one among the Olympians, sends Hermes off into the human world. Hermes, as you can see, is very ticked off by this.
The Great Famine (1315-1317)This famine all over the whole of Europe was the result of crop failure and from many unfortunate natural means. It took approximately 5-12% of the Europe’s population by starvation or related diseases.
How long have this famine been in Europe? With no food, how are people supposed to live? Oh, dear me...
Oh, we don’t have any food to eat! How are we supposed to survive through this famine?
After descending from Olympus, Hermes contemplate son which continent in the human world he should go and pay a visit to. He finally decides on going to Europe.
Oh no! They are fighting! Is the crown of France so worthy to get that so many people's lives have to be sacrificed for it?
Ahhhhh!
The Hundred Year's War (1337-1457)It was a series of wars to obtain the crown of France when the king of France died with no apparent heirs. The Hundred Year's War erupted when king of England desired for the France throne as well.
Hermes goes to Europe...
Hermes enters the continent of Europe, and the first sight he encounters is the Great Famine which occurred throughout Europe during 1315-1317. He sees how people suffered during this age of time.
After arriving in Europe...
After being shocked by the Great Famine, Hermes moved to the west side of Europe, realizing that almost two decades have gone by! Time flies by really quick when you are a god! In this western part of Europe, Hermes witnesses the Hundred Year's War which was fought between England and France for the throne of France.
