  • I have my Naturalization interview next week, can you help me study and review the U.S. government and history questions?
  • Of course, Dad!
  • The first question asks what is the supreme law of the land?
  • Well the answer is the Constitution, it is the highest form of law in this country and is very powerful.
  • Ah that makes sense, so what does the Constitution do, it's the next question?
  • Day after interview..
  • Well the Constitution sets up and defines the government. It also protects the basic rights of Americans.
  • Oh okay, so I know the Constitution has 27 amendments, which is a change or an addition to the Constitution. Can you explain some of the amendments?
  • Mhm, we call the first ten amendments the Bill of Rights. stating the rights and freedom of Americans. For instance, the 1st amendment gives us freedom of speech, religion, assembly, press, and petition to the government.
  • I will study the rest later, thank you for helping me understand the Constitution.
  • No problem, also remember the Constitution was written at the Constitutional Convention by the Founding Fathers!
