  • The Early Life of Frederick Douglas
  • In the early 1800's Frederick Douglass was forced to move to Baltimore to work as a person that watch peoples children. Mrs and Mr Auld are Frederick's master. One day Mrs. Auld was reading to her children and Frederick was their too. He was as curious as curious george finding a banana. So he asks what is this thing called reading? Mrs Auld said ill teach you.
  • While Frederick is learning Mr Auld finds out. He is in complete shock, he is very angry. Mr Auld told Ms Auld that if a slave learns then he will realize that we are doing something very bad and will spread it. So Mr Auld puts him in a room where he can't talk to any one or learn. Frederick screams, MS AULD PLEASE TEACH ME PLEASE, no answer. Frederick's mind was buzzing.
  • Frederick didn't care how much he would get in trouble he was very determined to learn more and more. Ms Auld wasn't as kind as she was, basically the same as Mr Auld not to nice. She was like every other master that didn't care about the slaves treating them like animals. Ms Auld will be a person throwing litter into a pond and frederick is the pond.
  • When Frederick was reading more and more he sees that his fellow brothers and sister go through the same thing he goes through, not treated right. Stealing them from their homes, friends and family. He had to make a stop to this
  • Frederick learned how to read and write, now he realized how stupid the other slaves are. So Frederick wanted to teach all these slaves and spread what these slave masters are doing to us and make a stop to this. Him learning was a key tool in Frederick Douglass's life because that's what made him Frederick Douglass
