- Jonas assignment is the Receiver of Memories. His responsibilities are intelligence, integrity, courage, and wisdom.
- 8 rules are: go to annex entrance right after school, go to training hours, ask any questions to citizens, no talking about training to friends and family, no dream telling, no medication, can lie, and not able to apply for release.
- The Giver´s house has a lot of books, door is locked, and fancy furniture.
- Three memories: going sledding in the snow, in summer with sun light, and getting a sunburn.
- The community can´t make decisions because they didn´t want anyone to have their own opinion.
- Seeing beyond is when Jonas can see the color of objects. Fiona hair is red, the apple is red, and the sled is red. Grey elephant in Africa.
