Storyboard Text

  • Hello class. Today our topic is Digestion
  • The food goes into the mouth where it is broken down into pieces by chewing. The saliva helps break the food and turns it into chemicals called enzymes. Once the food is broken down, it moves down the oesophagus which is a pipe that connects the mouth to the stomach
  • The food then sits there being stored. The food also starts getting broken down even further by enzymes which are very powerful chemicals. The food then starts to travel to the small intestine
  • Most of the nutrients in the food are then absorbed in the small intestine. The food is broken down more by the enzymes which have been released by the pancreas and bile from the liver and gallbladder. The remains of the food then go through to the large intestine.
  • The large intestine is a very long muscular tube that connects the small intestine to the rectum. The remains go through the tube which takes about 36 hours to reach the end. Once it does reach the end. It comes out of the anus and is poop
  • Thankyou sir
  • So that's how we poop
  • That's disgusting!
