- WOW!! It is so hot today and I don't think I can keep doing this sharecropping thing without even profiting off of it!!!!!
- *sigh* I know... it is really the only way for us to support are families at this point, so hang in there
- anyways, what even is sharecropping?! I just chose this because I heard I could support my family with money!!!!
- Sharecropping is a way for us poor farmers to earn a living from land owned by someone else. Our landowner provides us land, housing, tools, seeds, and money for our food and supplies. During harvest time, us, the sharecroppers, are expected to pay back the landowner with profits from the sale of the crop. However, this bad system will for sure keep people in poverty! The sharecroppers like us are never able to sell enough of the crop to receive a profit. Instead, they would get farther and farther in debt to the landowner!!!!
- Wow.. this is very unfair to us. Hopefully things will get better in the future!!
- Yeah.. anyways, it is almost 12:30!!! We should go home now. See you tomorrow!!
