Hi. I'm Milo the peasant and I'm going to tell you about the Black Death.
The Black Death was an outbreak of the bubonic plague that struck Europe in 1347.
It first came to Europe when rats hopped aboard ships that sailed from the Black Sea.
The rats carried fleas that were infected with the Black Death.
Unfortunately for us, we were oblivious to the spreading of the disease until people started to drop dead in the street!
The Black Death spread through the air as well as bites from infected rats. Because of that, the Plague spread quickly.
By 1348, the Plague struck Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and London!!!
Uhhhg!
Many people tried to flee for the country side. however, the Plague already spread to livestock...
BAAAAAH!!!!!
AAAH! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
Because this disease affected sheep, many sheep died. This lead to a wool shortage
This effected the economy terribly.
The Plague had finally finished it's deadly course by the 1350's.
From the start to the finish, the Black Death killed one third of Europe's population!
