  • It was founded to replace the League of Nations following World War II and to prevent another conflict.
  • Why is the United Nations important?
  • The United Nations is important because it ensures that all nations obey the same common law that protect the individuals as well as nations rights.
  • The United Nations has helped to enact dozens of legally binding agreements on political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights.
