  • First we begin by cleaning ourselves and dressing up.

  • The animal is lead in a procession. There is the priest, a maiden with barley and a knife, a flute player, a water carrier, and an incense carrier.

  • The musician's playing soothes the animal. The procession's destination is an altar.
  • A fire is lit on the altar and each participant purifiesthemselves by rinsing their hands in water. This began the ceremony.
  • The victim is sprinkled with water. The cow nodded which showed its consent to be sacrified.
