  • John Peter Zenger publishes a series of articles that contain him criticizing the governor of New York. 
  • Hamilton's defence

  • The governor orders the New York weekly journal burned and has John Peter Zenger arrested.
  • Jury's decision
  • The new York Weekly was correct!
  • Not quilty!
  • John Peter Senger is accused of seditious libel and his trial begins.
  • Life with and without Amendment
  • Yay! Free speech!
  • John Peter Zenger's brilliant defense lawyer Andrew Hamilton that helped win the case by proving Zenger was innocent from commiting seditious libel.
  • Andrew Hamilton convinced the jury that what Zenger said in the New York Weekly about the governor were true, so it would not be seditious libel. After that Zenger was not guilty.
  • Life with amendment allowed the press to write what they want about the government and people because of the Zenger trial.
