- The guards and I saw a ghost. We believe it was your father. He was wearing his armor.
- Three men are watching over the castle through the night waiting for something, anything to happen. The soldiers' names are Bernardo and Francisco, and the other man is Hamlet's best friend Horatio.
- Bye Laertes
- Ophelia you must stay away from Hamlet... "Or lose your heart, or your chaste treasure open to his unmastered importunity."
- Take your own advice
- Bernardo, Marcellus, and Horatio saw the ghost of Hamlet's father. They knew it was him because the armor he was wearing was King Hamlets.
- I hope so
- Do you think my father's ghost will show tonight?
- Horatio tells Hamlet about the ghost and how it was wearing Hamlet's father's armor.
- "Remember thee!"
- Claudius killed me... GET REVENGE“Adieu, adieu! remember me.”
- Claudius (Hamlet's Uncle) becomes king around two months after Hamlet's father passed. After that, they go down to the docks and say goodbye to Laertes. Laertes gives Ophelia advice that was to stay away from Hamlet.
- Stop moping around Hamlet I am the King now and also your new father
- Hamlet goes on watch with Horatio, He wants to see the ghost of his father and see if he can get him to talk.
- The ghost motions Hamlet to come with him and Hamlet goes. His father then tells Hamlet that Claudius was the one who put poison in his ear while he was sleeping in the garden. The ghost tells Hamlet to get revenge on Claudius. (KILL HIM) Then Hamlet makes Horatio and Marcellus to swear on his sword not to tell anyone about his father's ghost.
