Odysseus arrives to the land of the dead and encounters various spirits. One of them ask Odysseus for a proper funeral. Another one is Odysseus mother who was still alive when he left to Troy. The last spirit warns Odysseus of his future filled with disgrace.

After escaping Scylla and Charybdis, Odysseus and his boys see the island Thrinacia. Since they were so hungry they ignore Odysseus warning not to feast on Helios' cattle. The disobedience angers the god of sun who then threatens them that he will stop shining if he does not get payed back for the loss of his dear cattles.
