- He sets up the plywood against a tree only to see that no rain has come. He sets down the flare pistol and sets off to scour the countryside for food.

- As long as the boy looked, he had no luck with finding food.
- No food.
- Under the plywood.
- No, I'm not. You need to keep going south and find the good guys, okay?
- *Wheezing* You need to go without me, we've always been lucky. It's alright. Just go.
- But I want to be with you Papa.
- I can't. You have to be okay Papa.
- You can't, you need to carry the fire.
