  • King George passed an act called the tea act to save the British East India Company.This company was very important to British economy.
  • The ships with the British tea were sent to the Boston harbor .
  • Many colonists still thought of themselves as British citizens. They wanted the right to pick what tea they buy. They were mad so they started to plan a revolt.
  • The colonists placed people around the boat to prevent the British from unloading the boat.
  • On December 16,1773, the colonists walked to the harbor where British ships full of tea were anchored.
  • Dressed as native americans, the colonists boarded the ships . Then they threw overboard around 342 chests of tea and celebrated.
