  • Who Took Part? Thomas Jefferson, the American President at the time, and Napolean Bonaparte, the French emporer in debt, made a trade. Which was for land in return for money.
  • Why? Napolean needed the money to help his military, so he sold his land in North America through the Louisiana Purchase.
  • I'm in debt! Yay
  • Louisiana Purchase The purchased land doubles America. The land reached from the border of the Mississippi River to Montana. It cost America $15 million.
  • The Lewis and Clark expedition spanned from May 1804 to September 1806.
  • They went on the first expedition in America that crossed the western portion of the United States.
  • The Corps of Discovery was the group that took part in the expedition to the west along with Lewis and Clark.
