The Duel
King Claudius: I drink to Hamlet
Hamlet: It was my madness that killed your father, I am sorry.Laertes: I forgive you for your madness, but my reputation still needs to be upheld. We are friends, Hamlet.Hamlet: Let us duel.
(After Claudius poisons it) Queen Gertrude: I too drink.
Truth
Laertes: Hamlet, the sword is poisoned. You and I have both struck each other with it and will die. It was all the King, including the poison that your mother drank.
Hamlet: The sword is poisoned? Die Uncle!(Runs Claudius through with sword.)
Queen Gertrude: The drink is poisoned!
An Absoution
Laertes: I absolve you of any responsibility for wrongdoing for my father's death or mine. I hope you absolve me of any for your death Hamlet.
Hamlet: I do forgive you Laertes. May Heaven go with you. Horatio, put of your peaceful death so you may tell of what happened here.
Death
Horatio: I will tell Fortinbras,of your will for him to be King now, for he has just arrived back from victory in Poland and the position will suit him. I will too tell of the tragedy that has occurred here.
