- Cathy lives upstairs next to Joe the baby grabber. She will be anyone's friend but only for a certain amount of time since she and her family move often.

- Mr Gil's furniture shop is run by an old man and it is always very dark. One time esperanza and her sister nenny purchased a used refrigerator from the old mans store.
- Meme Ortiz moved into the house that cathy used to live in. And here is the tree that Meme Ortiz won the Tarzan Jumping Contest on, breaking both of his legs.

- The vargas' kids loved to play chicken on Mr Bennny's roof. The varges kids would also do crazy things that got one of them killed.
