Montag is having a conversation with his wife about Clarisse. He is concerned about her, because he hasn't seen her in a couple days. However, Mildred suddenly remembers that Clarisse is dead and that her family moved away.
At first, Faber views this new teaching assignment as a useless, as well as dangerous, undertaking. His attitude, however, does not deter Faber from launching into such a challenging and exciting task.

Just as Captain Beatty forces Montag to burn his own house. Montag flips the flame thrower to Captain Beatty and he ends up burning to death. This then leads to Montag being chased.

The whole city is in ruins and everything is destroyed. However the book people gather around gathering all the books remaining..
Book people along with Montag look at the remain city that is burning up in ashes just before they leave to St.Louis or some place else for refuge.
10 years in the future, the book people managed to rebuild the town along with a few others and now their offsping have a liking towards books. Now, firemen put out fires instead of starting them.
