  • The mermaid and the tsunami warning
  • Please! Let me go! I am a mermaid!
  • The mermaid and the tsunami warning is a folktale that, I think, is trying to teach us about trust for others. If you trust some people, you will be able to create friendships, otherwise the people around you won't have friendships with you. Talking and communicating is very important in our every-day ives, and the only way to communicate is to trust.
  • A tsunami will occur! Get to the mountains by morning.
  • On a moonlight night in Nohara, an old man had caught an interesting catch when he was fishing with nets. One toss of the nets gave him an unusually large catch.
  • A tsunami will hit the island. You need to evacuate to the mountains by morning!
  • A tsunami! I am not believing that a tsunami will hit the island!
  • The man raised his torch to see what it was, when he found this amazing creature She explained that she was a mermaid, and begged him to let her go.
  • The mermaid had then told him that she had come to warn the villagers about a terrible event about to occur. The fisherman said that he would let her go, but he wanted her to tell him what the terrible event was. So the mermaid told him that a big tsunami would hit the island the next day and destroy everything. She told him that he needed to get to the mountains before morning.
  • The fisherman had let her go, back into the sea. The villagers were warned and were ready to go to the mountains. The fisherman also warned villagers of the next town, but they didn't believe the tsunami story and refused to evacuate.
  • The villagers evacuated to the island. They were fine and safe. The ones who did not believe the fisherman and mermaid, got washed away into sea with all of their belongings.
