- The Greek Goddess Hera, trained the three-headed serpent to attack villagers.
- When one of the serpents heads is cut off, two more grow in its place. Using its poisonous breath and blood, it guards the portal to the underworld.
- Due to the serpent having both poisonous blood and breath - it contaminated all of the water, meaning nobody was able to drink or swim in it.
- Hercules was instructed to Slay the Lernean Hydra, as part of the 12 labours.
- Hercules understood that he wouldn't be able to do it on his own, so he called for the help of his nephew - Loreless.
- Together, the pair would eventually kill the Hyrda, by cutting off the immortal head and burying it in the woods. Hercules was therefore able to continue with the rest of the labours.
