- i think the first paragraph is pathos and ethos because its stating if he is sharing his emotions about taking a stand. He is debating if he should take a stand for slavery or be inslaved by Britian.
- "sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on."
- this is ethos because he speaking about the subject of giving men credibility. Patrich is telling the President that there should be change.
- "if we wish to be free, we must fight i repeat it, sir, we must fight."
- This is ethos because he is making a statement and is saying if we don't do this. then this will happen. He is giving a speech about going to war with Britian saying Britian is over powering them right now and if they want freedom then they need to fight for it.
- "forbid it, almighty god! i know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
- this is ethos because he is convincing him there is nothing else to be done and the only other option is too go to war if they want there rights and freedom.
- this is pathos and ethos because he is using emotion and convincing the president. he is still trying to tell him that there is no other choice they need too fight.
- this is ethos because he got them to go to war. the war had started and Patrich fought for his freedom.
