Now I know why those screams from the nursery sounded so familiar.
Lydia and George live in a smart house with their two kids Wendy and peter. Wendy and Peter's favorite feature of the house was the Virtual reality nursery that the therapist said that it's a good way to see into the children's minds. Their favorite thing to transform the nursery is into "The Vedlt."
As a result of Lydia and George's neglect to Wendy and Peter the children got too attached. George noticed there was strange familiar screams and their old stuff bloody and chewed up so he told them that he would be shutting down the nursery and taking them on a vacation. The kids threw a tantrum.
The parents gave in and let them have a few minutes in the nursery while they packed for the vacation. The children used this opportunity to trick the parents into running into the nursery. When the parents were in they locked the door and commanded the lions to come alive and kill George and Lydia.
Literary term- Irony
Soon after the therapist walks in and asks where the parents have gone.
The children respond by saying that their parents will be here shortly as they gesture him some tea.
It was Ironic because the children said that the parents would be there soon, but the readers know that the parents are actually dead.
