The mood for this part in the story is creepy. The author creates this by making what the main character said is going to happen to Fortunato psychotic.
This part of the story demonstrates verbal irony because the main character is pretending to care for Fortunato's health and trying to get him to go upstairs even though he doesn't really care and he's trying to fortunate but Fortunato doesn't know that.
This part of the story demonstrates dramatic irony because we (the readers) knew that the main character was going to kill Fortunato in the catacombs but fortunate didn't know this and he thought they were going to try some wine
