- There is a fire!!!!!!! Steve, what should I do???????
- Amy, first of all, don't Panic. Go tell the TEACHER! I will place a lid on the pot.
- The stove lit on fire. Steve put a lid on the pot. What else should we do?
- Ok. I will call the office. Amy please turn of the burner. Thank you for telling me.
- What's wrong?
- Teacher said to turn off the burner. Is there anything else we can do?
- What about water? Can we pour water over the fire?
- Good job Amy. I just remembered, we should THROW BAKING SODA on the fire to help put it out.
- NO! Water will make the fire worse, and the flames will go up!
- Oh good. The fire is almost all gone.
- Also, NEVER USE WATER to put out a fire on the stove. It will make it WORSE!
- 1. Tell the teacher 2. Turn off the stove. 3. Put a lid on the pot. 4. Throw baking soda over the flames.
- Yes it is. Now lets remember what to do if there is another fire.
- The fire is almost all gone.
- That's good. 1 more safety tip is to NEVER keep any objects that can explode or start a fire near the stove. For example, cooking spray.
- If you follow these rules you will be prepared when a fire happens.
