- Elizabeth Blackwell was born in England, February 3, 1821. Her parents names are Hannah and Samuel Blackwell.
- Yay! We're finally in New York!
- 1832 the Blackwell family moved from England to New York.
- 1839 Elizabeth got a job being a teacher but, she wanted to go to medical school.
- Great job William!

- When Elizabeth tried to enter medical school, no one would take her because she was a woman. So she moved to North Carolina where she studied under a local doctor.
- Geneva College in New York finally agreed to accept Elizabeth. She moved to New York right away. She graduated from medical school 1849.
- New York here I come!
- Your son Jack is okay he just has a common cold.
- Elizabeth returned to New York but no one would hire her. She decided to open her own practice for women and children.
