Moses at the Burning Bush
Please do not hurt me!
Moses, I am the God of your father. I have heard the misery of the people in Egypt. I have come to free them from the Egyptians by sending you.
Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring them out of Egypt.
I will be with you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God on this mountain.
Moses and Aaron. Tell the people of Israel that on the tenth day of this month, each man shall take one, one year old lamb for their family. On the fourteenth day, they shall slaughter the lamb. The blood of the lamb shall be smeared over the doors of each household. I will come to strike Egypt. If I see the blood, I will pass over you.
We will do as you say, Moses.
Go and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. Take the blood and put it on the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood of the doorframe and will pass over.
At midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt who didn't have blood on the door. Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.
