Storyboard Text

  • Good thing Mr. Atticus is here to protect me in case something happens. I am a very lucky man.
  • What is that noise? I wonder what will happen to Atticus. I hope they're not here to do me any harm. I better listen carefully.
  • Oh no! Atticus and his kids are in danger because of me! What if something happens to Scout and people end up getting hurt because of me? What will happen to me?
  • In this scene, Atticus is sitting in front of the jailhouse and protecting Tom Robinson.
  • Scout is putting herself in danger and she could be injured or hurt!!! What's happening to me or Atticus? Oh no!!
  • In this scene, the mob comes to the jailhouse, led by Mr. Cunningham. They crowd the jailhouse and start conversing with Atticus about Tom Robinson. The mob tries to get Robinson out of the jailhouse.
  • Is he finally heading back?! Are we all safe? I am so confused.
  • When the mob and Atticus are talking, Scout, who has been watching the scene with Jem and Dill, interrupts to protect her dad, Atticus. However, Atticus realizes this situation is very dangerous and tells Jem to take the kids back home. The Mob agrees with Atticus and violently asks Atticus to send his kids back home. However, Jem refuses to go back home.
  • Scout has truly saved my life, and so has Atticus. Good thing this issue is finally over and I didn't get hurt. I need to thank Scout and Atticus later!
  • After Jem refuses to go back home, Scout spots Mr. Cunningham, the leader of the mob, in the crowd and says,"Hey, Mr. Cunningham. How's your entailment gettin' along? [...] Don't you remember me, Mr. Cunningham? I'm Jean Louise Finch. [...] I go to school with Walter [...] He's a good boy, a real nice boy" (204-205).
  • Scout, without knowing, reaches Mr. Cunningham's sentimental side, far from the side that wanted to kill Tom Robinson with the mention of his personal life such as his son. His intensions of trying to kill Tom Robinson are gone and he tells the mob to head back.
  • After Mr. Cunningham and the mod head back, Tom Robinson asks Atticus, "They gone?" (206). Atticus says that everything is clear and tells Tom Robinson to get some sleep. Atticus, Scout, Dill, and Jem head back home.
