  • The tennis court oath was when all the peasants got together to protest for a better government. They said that they wouldn't leave the tennis court until there was a new government.
  • We are not leaving!
  • We will stay here as long as it takes!
  • We want a better government!
  • The fall of the Bastille was when the prison was attacked be an angry mob. They let the seven prisoners loose and they arrested and murder the governor and paraded his head around the streets.
  • This is what happens when you don't meet our demands!
  • Give us bread!
  • The women's march to Versailles was when a group of women and some men marched to Versailles to get the king to give them bread for their families. The king eventually agreed to give them what they want. 
  • We want bread!
  • Marie Antoinette was put on trial with her husband King Lois the 14th. They were found guilty and sentenced to death. Marie Antoinette just asked for little suffering.
  • Please make this quick. I want as little suffering as possible.
  • you should have thought about that before you became a criminal.
  • The reign of terror was a time of violence.  The Jacobins and the Girondins were rival political parties. The Jacobins had the most support and were responsible for most or the executions.
  • If you go against us we will kill you.

  • The declaration of the rights of man and citizen was 17 articles that were adopted August 20 and 26. It basically said that all "men are born and remain free and equal in rights."
  • We are finally free and equal.
  • We no longer have to do countless hours of work for nothing.
