American story pt. 2
Storyboard Text
- 13-year-old Michael Clarke is playing baseball with his gang of friends in 1986. Him, Ray, Charlotte, and Eddie play as Ally (who is also Michael's cousin) stands by cheering on the sideline.
- Later that day, Michael and Ally's families meet at their Aunt Jo's house to watch the Challenger go to space.
- Brandon interrupts the story once again to question how Michael's family came to be. His mother tells him to know that, he would have to know about his great grandfather who was raised in the 50's.
- Jimmy Clarke is 10-years-old. It is 1959 and he has the picture perfect family. However, he and his younger sister are more interested in getting involved in the trends than keeping things the way they are.
- Brandon asks his mother why Jimmy's father was so up tight. She explains that George grew up in a different time. He grew up during the depression so once he got the perfect life, he wanted to keep it.
- 10-year-old George is living in a very small home during the depression. His mother Alice, married Robert, and had four more children. Robert works in a factory and they struggle to get money to feed their children.
