  • The 1920s was a time of wealth and prosperity. But that all ended when lots of people were selling there stock but no one was buying so the prices plummeted
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt
  • When stock market fell. It caused the ripple effect causing many people and businesses to go broke. Makeing many hoovervilles.
  • The Great Migration
  • Hoovervilles were named after President Herbert Hoover who was president at the time the great depression started. Many people blamed the goverenment for not helping them and it was there fault.
  • Start of the Great Depression
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected in 1932 the president after Herbert Hoover. His plan was to stop the decline in the Great Depression, by giving people jobs, like the Construction of the Grand Coulee Dam.
  • The Great Migration was the migration of black southerners northward to look for new jobs and prosperity. They wanted to escape segregation.
  • People don't really know the exact cause of the Great Depression but people think it had something to do with people selling more than people were buying their stock, and banks failing to keep people money.
