In the story, Jack and the beanstalk, Jack lives with his mother. They lived on a poor farm.
Jack has to go to the town to sell his cow Bessy for money. They will spend the money they get on seeds for their spring garden.
When Jack reaches town he meets a mysterious man that offers to trade 3 magic beans for Jack's cow, Bessy.
When Jack had gotten home from town he showed his mother the three magic beans. Jack's mother had gotten very angry, she threw all three of the beans out the window and sent jack to bed crying.
When jack had woken up the next day, he saw a very big beanstalk out his window, so he got dressed and climbed it all the way to the top using leaves and vines. When he reached the top he came upon a castle. He had gotten captured by a lady giant. When Jack escaped he decided to take a hen with him. Making the male giant very angry.
In the end, Jack his mother, and the hen make it out by chopping the beanstalk down with Jacks axe. So the hen thanked Jack and they all lived happily ever after because of the hens golden eggs.
