- Stanly Yelnats was an ordinairy boy, the only thing that made him special was that he always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. His grandfather said that that was because his family was cursed. One day he got arrested for stealing shoes. Wich, of course, he did not do. He was again in the wrong place at the wrong time. So the judge sendtenced him to Camp Green Lake.
- But I did not do anything!! OK OK I will go to the camp...
- GUILTY!!! You can go to jail or to Camp Green Lake.
- When Stanly arrived at the camp, he immideatly saw that there was no lake! All they had to do was dig holes all day long in the burning sun of Texas. Now let me tell you a little bit about the curse. It al started with his dirty-rotten-no good-pigstealing- great-great-grandfather. He once made a promes to a gipsy: Madame Zeroni, but he broke it. He did not do it on purpose, he just vergot. Will be continued....
- Where is the lake? And why do we have to dig holes?
- After Zero had left the camp, Stanly went after him. He found him under a boat. Surprisingly he was still alive. They decited to climb a mountain to look for drinkwater. I will continue with the curse: The promise that his great-great-grandfather made to the gipsy was that he would carry her up the mountain and let her drink from the water. If he did not do that, he and all of his familie would be cursed for all enternal.
- Zeroooooooo!!! Where are you!!!
- My real name is Hector Zeroni.
- On their way up the mountain, Zero blacked out. So Stanly had to carry him. Surprisingly, they found water!! And onions to eat!! When Zero woke up, Stanly told him that he found something interesting in a hole back at the camp. They decited to go back to the camp to dig further in that hole, so maybe they would find something that could help them escape the camp.
- When they were at the camp, they dug further in the hole. They found a treasure chest and were so happy, they could sing. But than the warden came.
